14 Points
Wilson had a 14 point system that he believed would help the world stay out of war longer. One of his points was Lasting peace, meaning to try and keep peace between everyone. This one is still in effect but hasn't been working, because we went to war with Iraq. Another one was no more secret agreements between countries, all agreements should be made public. He also believe in free navigation of the sea, so no one can blockade a certain area, it is still in effect today. The league of nations is the biggest and most important one, it was a "league" that would try and keep these points, and keep peace. It isn't still around today but we do have a United Nations that does almost the same thing.
Political Cartoon
The cartoonist is showing trench warfare. He is showing how it isn't safe to lift your head, not even to try and shoot. It shows a guy using something to be able to shoot above without lifting his head, which isn't real. He is exaggerating by having the guy stick his gun in a tube to be able to shoot above him, because that isn't possible. I like this comic, it shows that trench warfare isn't safe, it portrays the danger of having to lift your head up out of the trench even to shoot.
Women during the war
Women took over men's jobs while they were away at war. They were farming, nursing, police, and they also were working in factories helping make weapons. This was a big change because women usually didn't work those kind of jobs, they were only for the men. It changed women's rights from that point on. After World War 1 women actually started getting recruited as cooks, and technicians in the army. Women started to get the right to vote to because there weren't many men there to be able to vote.
Armenian Genocide
The Armenian were a group that lived in the Ottoman Empire. There were about 2 and a half million of them living in the Ottoman Empire , the genocide killed off about 1 and a half million, that's a lot of people who were killed. They were deported and killed, some were even butchered right outside there homes. The group that did all this was called the Central Committee of the Young Turk Party. They were a racist group.I find that horrible, i don't see why anyone would ever think that is a good thing. They were all sick people. They killed over a million people for no reason. There really was no reason to it either. I don't believe that anyone should be demeaned, no one is less then anyone else, except for the people who feel there are lesser people out there just for there race. I can't believe they would just send them out to a march in the middle of the desert to concentration camps and just kill them.
